Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using JiraniSoko ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the Platform.

JiraniSoko is a classifieds marketplace that connects buyers and sellers within local neighbourhoods across Kenya. We provide the platform — we do not buy, sell, or take part in any transactions between users.

2. User Accounts

To use JiraniSoko, you must register an account with a valid email address, phone number, and select your county. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and truthful information during registration
• Verify your phone number via OTP when prompted
• Keep your login credentials secure and not share them
• Not create multiple accounts or impersonate others
• Be at least 18 years old to create an account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that are reported for fraudulent activity.

3. Marketplace Rules

When creating listings (products, jobs, vehicles, or property), you agree to:

• Provide accurate descriptions, prices, and images of items
• Only list items you legally own or are authorised to sell
• Respond to enquiries in good faith
• Update or remove listings when items are no longer available
• Not post duplicate or misleading listings
• Comply with all applicable Kenyan laws and regulations

4. Transactions & Safety

We strongly recommend:

• Always meet in a public place for face-to-face transactions
• Never send money in advance before seeing the item
• Inspect items carefully before making payment
• Use cash on delivery or pay only after verifying the item
• Report suspicious users immediately using the report function

5. Paid Promotions

Users may promote their listings for wider visibility by paying a promotion fee via Paystack. Promotion tiers are:

• County Boost — KSH 150 / 30 days (visible across your county)
• Province Boost — KSH 650 / 30 days (visible across your province)
• National Boost — KSH 850 / 30 days (visible nationwide)

Promotion payments are non-refundable. Promoted listings that violate our rules may be removed without refund. Unpaid listings are shown to approximately 5 nearby neighbourhoods.

6. Prohibited Items & Activities

The following are strictly prohibited on JiraniSoko:

Listings violating these rules will be removed immediately and the user's account may be suspended or permanently banned.

7. Limitation of Liability

JiraniSoko is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not responsible for:

• The quality, safety, or legality of listed items
• The accuracy of listing descriptions or user information
• The ability of sellers to sell or buyers to pay
• Any disputes, losses, or damages arising from transactions
• Any actions taken by users on or off the Platform

8. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or permanently terminate any account that violates these Terms, is reported multiple times for fraud, or engages in prohibited activities. You may also delete your account at any time by contacting support.
